The easiest way to frame your first match is one Michael Myers / The Shape against up to four Haddonfield Heroes or Civilians. The game also includes a solo story from Michael’s perspective and private matches against AI. The Steam Windows listing confirms Single-player, Online PvP, Online Co-op and Steam Achievements.

Why the two sides need separate practice

Michael relies on stealth, darkness and abilities to close in, then uses executions to build bloodlust. Civilians search for items, help residents, contact the police and look for a way out. Both sides share Haddonfield, but they are solving different problems. The story mode lets you learn Michael without also having to learn the map and team communication in your first multiplayer match.

A practical first-match order

1. Play the opening part of the solo story and watch how stealth, Killer Sense, Shape Jump and environmental interactions change your approach.
2. As a Civilian, check nearby items, residents and phone objectives before splitting jobs with teammates. Finding an item is only part of the loop, not the whole win condition.
3. As Michael, practice watching from cover and cutting phone lines before trying complex ability chains.
4. Once ordinary escapes feel familiar, try police pressure, private AI matches and longer-term progression goals.
5. Leave trophies, achievements and Perk Points for the second phase so your first match stays focused on fundamentals.
